Schedule

Phase 1: Pokhara Lakeside Departure (6:00 AM)

Your adventure begins at Pokhara Airport (PKR), just minutes from Lakeside's hotels. No Kathmandu chaos - just crisp mountain air and immediate views of the Annapurna range.

Pre-Flight:

Meet your pilot at our private lounge

Safety briefing with Himalayan weather overview

Complimentary tea/coffee with mountain views

Flight Duration: 20 minutes to base camp
Altitude Gain: 800m → 4,130m (gentle acclimatization)

Watch Pokhara's Phewa Lake shrink below as you enter the Modi Khola valley—a river corridor carved by ancient glaciers.

Phase 2: The Sanctuary Approach

Fly upstream through the Modi Khola Gorge, the only entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary. The valley walls close in, creating nature's own cathedral.

Aerial Landmarks:

Ghandruk Village: Stone-roofed Gurung settlement, "Switzerland of Nepal"
Chhomrong: The gateway village clinging to a ridge at 2,170m
Bamboo & Deurali: Tiny settlements in the rhododendron forests
Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m): Your first landing option
The Sanctuary Reveal: Suddenly, the valley opens into a perfect oval amphitheater, ringed by ice and rock on all sides. This is the only break in the 40-kilometer Annapurna massif.

Phase 3: Annapurna Base Camp Landing

WELCOME TO 4,130 METERS—THE HEART OF THE HIMALAYA
Touch down on the helipad where trekkers celebrate after 8 days of walking. But you've arrived in 40 minutes, fresh and energized.

Your 30-45 Minutes on the Ground:

360° Mountain Immersion: Surrounded by Annapurna I, II, III, IV, South, Gangapurna, and Machhapuchhre
Snow Play: Build a snowman, throw snowballs (seasonal)
Photography: No bad angles—every shot is framed by peaks
Hot Tea Service: Served at base camp by our staff
Annapurna South Face: Stare up at the 10th highest mountain's 3,000-meter vertical wall
Unlike Everest's barren rock, ABC sits in a glacier basin surrounded by wildflowers (spring) or pristine snow (winter). It's alive, intimate, and almost spiritual.

Phase 4: Optional Second Landing

Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3,700m) or Ghandruk Village (if time permits)
MBC Option: Closer views of the sacred "Fishtail Mountain"—unclimbed and pristine
Ghandruk Option: Cultural immersion in Nepal's most photogenic Gurung village

Phase 5: Return to Pokhara (9:00 AM)

Descend through the valley, watching the sunrise illuminate the mountains in gold and pink.

Arrival in Pokhara: 8:30 AM
Total Experience: 2.5-3 hours
Flight Time: ~50 minutes
Ground Time: 45-60 minutes

Your afternoon: Free to enjoy Pokhara's lakeside cafes, paragliding, or simply rest with the day's memories.
